Typeline

Book 2016 Typeline tells, shortly but powerfull, the rich history of typography. The book also contains a visualized timeline and it’s pocket size.  Typeline has been created with Suuz de Leeuw. The reason we created Typeline is because we both felt the need for a good oversight of the history of typography. There are so many fonts we all know and recognize but we don’t realize how they came to be or from which time they are. All the books we could find in the library about this subject were massive and none of them contained a clear timeline about type.

Kassandras’ Project Athens

Kassandras’ Project Athens 2016 Poster/flyer design. Prototype building inspired by the Greek Kiosk. Kassandra’s is situated in an unfinished structure in the neighbourhood of Votanikos, Athens. The Kassandrass’ workshop proposes a case study of Kassandras’ current topics such as the development and experimentation of design & architectural strategies within the context of a “skeleton” building and a “long-term ephemeral” attitude. Kassandras is a hybrid space situated in an un-finished building in Athens, a space where contemporary practices can find ground for (cross) breeding and experimentation in a given environment. With a group of exchange students studying at Umprum in Prague we did prototyping in the building on Kassandras street. One-to-one scale construction that doubles as a laboratory of architectural, artistic and social research. http://kassandras.org/

I took the words “licht en kunst” (light and art) and experimented on how to create an interesting image by playing with depth and perspective. This resulted in a painting inspired by Moholy-Nagy.

This way, you first see the collages and you can bring back your own memories. In the end you read the questions and the answers that might be given.

The life of Moholy-Nagy

Digital Drawing/Photography 2015   In this project I made a series of 5 images in where I show the life of Moholy-Nagy. An artist who’s  style inspires me a lot. I took five moments of his life that we’re to my opinion important. To make the images I took foto’s of shadows I created with random objects. With these shadows I was able to create the atmosphere I wanted.
